阮曾媛琪教授现任香港理工大学副校长（学院发展及合作）及应用社会科学系教授。1975年获香港大学社会科学（社会工作）荣誉学士学位，1978 年获加拿大多伦多大学社会工作荣誉硕士学位，1983 年于英国曼彻斯特大学取得教育硕士学位，1995 年于香港大学取得哲学博士学位。阮教授曾经为全职专业社工。先后于香港树仁大学、新加坡国立大学任教。1986 年加入香港理工大学，任教于应用社会科学系。
    2004年至2010年期间任职该系系主任，2007 年至2010 年期间担任香港理工大学协理副校长，其后晋升为副校长，专责理大中国内地及国际发展、学院发展及合作事宜。2014年1月起，任香港高等教育资助委员会委员。
    封衔：2002 年香港特别行政区政府委任为太平绅士，2008 年获香港特别行政区政府颁发铜紫荆星章。
